紅襪今天(21日)以4比7輸給皇家，「老爹」David Ortiz第7局敲出安打反而被驅逐出場，因為他的甩棒太過瀟灑。
當時面對皇家後援投手Kelvin Herrera，Ortiz敲出中外野平飛安打，往一壘跑了幾步之後，才將球棒隨手一甩丟向「場中」。
Ortiz站上一壘，開始跟主審Bruce Dreckman隔空對談，接著遭到驅逐出場。老爹退場時經過本壘，繼續找裁判理論，還做出手勢將主審趕出場。
此戰紅襪先發投手Rick Porcello在第5局崩盤，紅襪4比7輸給皇家，Porcello先發5局失6分，吞下本季第8敗(4勝)自責分率5.61。
皇家Edinson Volquez投5.1局失4分，拿下第7勝(4敗)自責分率3.33。終結者Greg Holland獲得第13次救援成功。
